Suffolk based PR agency Pier PR & Marketing has been shortlisted for 10 awards in the 2018 CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations) East Anglia PRride Awards 2018; more nominations than any other organisation in the region.
As well as nominations in many of the PRide Award’s biggest categories, Pier has also been shortlisted for the top prize, Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy.
The 10 nominations come as Pier PR & Marketing celebrates 10 years in business. Managing Director, Kate Bowden Smith, commented: “It is always exciting to be recognised by our industry and peers, and we are incredibly proud to have in this, our landmark tenth year, earned ten nominations for our expertise, which helps our clients drive sales and build reputation.”
The nominations recognise Pier PR & Marketing’s work with the East of England Co-op.
Nominated for five awards (Best Use of Media Relations, Low Budget Campaign, Consumer Relations Campaign, Corporate and Business Communications Campaign and Regional Campaign of the Year) was Pier’s launch of the East of England Co-op’s ‘Co-op Guide to Dating’.
This pivotal initiative saw the East of England Co-op become the first major retailer to sell products past their Best Before date for just 10p. Pier ensured this important announcement was seen by a global audience, with multiple TV networks, radio stations and national newspaper front pages covering this innovative move to reduce food waste.
Pier’s work on the ‘Future of British Produce’ for the East of England Co-op’s ‘Sourced Locally Fortnight’ earned four nominations in the categories; Best Use of Content, Best Use of Media Relations, Best Use of Photography/Design and Regional Campaign of the Year.
Pier devised the campaign to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the award-winning Sourced Locally initiative, which sees the East of England Co-op support local producers and encourage shoppers to buy local produce. Pier commissioned a unique portrait by renowned photographer Jenny Lewis of ten inspiring women in East Anglia who are helping to lead the future of food and drink production, resulting in ample coverage by the media.
The CIPR award winners will be selected by a team of leading industry experts and will be announced at an awards dinner on the 15th November 2018.
Pier has historically enjoyed industry success and recognition, and in the 2017 CIPR PRide Awards, Pier picked up the title for Regional Campaign of the Year.
Pier works on a variety of national and regional PR campaigns, with specialist teams delivering expertise across food and drink, offshore renewable, yachting and marine sectors.
