Pier PR & Marketing marks its 10th year of successful business

Pier PR & Marketing is celebrating 10 years of successful business this summer and marked the occasion with a 10th birthday party at Ipswich Waterfront.

The PR and marketing agency, set up by managing director, Kate Bowden Smith in 2008, works with a number of well-known companies in East Anglia, as well as an impressive portfolio of national brands including Homepride flour and ScottishPower Renewables.

Pier has been instrumental in a number of major regional and national campaigns such as:

  • setting the news agenda across the UK for the launch of the East of England Co-op’s ground-breaking ‘Co-op Guide to Dating’, which has seen the company selling products beyond their ‘Best Before’ date
  • securing over 600 pieces of national and local coverage for estate agents, Fenn Wright
  • obtaining global media coverage for ScottishPower Renewables after its discovery of a German U-31 submarine wreck

Over the years, Pier has collaborated with influential public figures including Kate Garraway, Ken Hom and Great British Bake Off contestants, as well as charities including Ormiston Families, Rainbow Trust and Wallace & Gromit’s Children’s Charity.

Key to the company’s success is the expertise of its 16-strong team and the company has not only grown its team, but also the range of services it provides to its clients.

From PR, social media management and content production, to design, experiential and promotional marketing, Pier continues to evolve to meet its clients’ needs.

The company has been rewarded for its excellence. Pier has won multiple awards including the CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations) Outstanding Public Relations Consultancy award and has been a finalist in The Grocer’s Consumer PR award for its work with Ken Hom.

Managing director, Kate Bowden Smith said: “Our 10th birthday is a fantastic milestone. Throughout the past decade we have enjoyed continued success, and I’d like to say a big thank you to all the staff, clients, journalists and suppliers we have worked with. We couldn’t have done it without you.”
