Ipswich-based Insurance broker PolicyBee hires five new recruits

Ipswich-based broker PolicyBee has invested in its workforce by appointing five new account executives. All recruited from the local region, the executives will support the increasingly busy existing team as the business continues to grow.

Despite the challenges of bringing in new staff members during the coronavirus pandemic, online insurance broker PolicyBee successfully welcomed assistant account executives Larita Long and Lauren Ditcham, with Sian Adams, Susanna Mansukhani and Chris Huxtable all joining as account executives. PolicyBee’s recruitment drive reflects the company’s organic year-on-year growth, as it reached a major milestone of 30,000 customers last month.

PolicyBee recruited the account executives based on their organisational skills, good grasp of business insurance and strong customer focus. The new recruits will work across PolicyBee’s existing business sectors as well as new and growing areas of the business, such as the aesthetics and beauty industry.

Lauren Ditcham, who has a background in travel consultancy and previously worked for a local medical practice and a property and pensions company, said: “I was attracted to the stability of the insurance industry and the fact that PolicyBee is a growing, successful business. The company has a family feel which really suits me. I’ve also been impressed by the quality of internal communication, which has obviously been extremely important this year.”

The new starters said they were attracted by the opportunities for job progression and professional development offered by PolicyBee. Account executive Chris Huxtable, who previously worked at another local insurance broker, commented: “I wanted to work for a thriving company and saw a great opportunity for personal growth at PolicyBee, which initially attracted me to the role.”

Kerri-Ann Hockley, head of customer service at PolicyBee, commented: “We are thrilled that these five bright and talented individuals have joined the company. Our account executives are on the frontline of our business and are essential members of the team. These new recruits have risen to the challenge of starting a new job during the pandemic, when our office has not been open as usual and face-to-face contact is limited.

“The account executives will undertake 12 weeks of introductory training, learning all the different sectors of the business. This is important in terms of determining their future workload and personal development. As a company, we aim to support all our employees to really shine and become forward-thinking insurance experts.”
