Ellisons Solicitors expands its Insolvency team in Essex with new recruit

Ellisons Solicitors has announced the appointment of Hannah Dersiley as a Solicitor in the Insolvency team, to join the Colchester office. This new recruit further cements the firm’s position as the largest specialist insolvency team in Essex and Suffolk.

Hannah began her role in September after successfully completing her training contract with Ellisons and earning a law degree from the University of East Anglia and LPC at the University of Law Bloomsbury, London.

Speaking on her appointment Hannah Dersiley said: “It is an incredibly busy period to be joining the team but I am excited by the opportunity to join in a permanent role. I’m looking forward to continuing my work with business leaders in these extremely worrying times to help them find solutions for carrying their business through to next year and beyond.”

Hannah joins the existing team of experienced insolvency and business rescue advisors, offering comprehensive and expert advice on all aspects of personal and corporate insolvency and business turnaround options. Her experience covers small claims debt recovery, fast track acting for both claimant and defendant, winding up petitions, statutory demands, bankruptcy, liquidation and administrations, as well as debt enforcement.

Commenting on the appointment, Scott Porter, Partner and Head of Insolvency and Debt Recovery at Ellisons said: “We are delighted to welcome Hannah.  She is great asset to the team. Now is one of the most important times for this team as we continue to guide businesses through these unprecedented times. It is a testament to our conscientious, empathetic and knowledgeable team that we are the biggest specialist team of our kind in the region.”

The 2020 lockdown has been a busy time for the team who have been advising businesses and directors throughout the difficult period on restructuring, directors’ liabilities, insolvency options, debt recovery and dealing with creditor pressure.

The team continues to work with businesses across the region to safeguard the future of businesses and work through practical solutions to help keep businesses operating and find the best solutions for the directors and business owners where that is no longer possible.
