Larking Gowen is seeking to recruit a Marketing Advisor.
The role
As the Marketing Advisor you will sit within the Business Development team and have a primary focus on delivery of ‘growth’ for the firm through the Business Development plans for regions, groups and teams – and the overall promotion of Larking Gowen, firm wide.

Main responsibilities:
This is a ‘hands-on’ role with a strong focus on events including event management, project management, digital marketing and general marketing. The role would suit someone who is passionate about events and is keen to support in all aspects of marketing including; brochures, publications, adverts, internal communications and mail and print projects.
The main areas of focus will include but are not limited to:
- Events – including driving the co-ordination and project management of events
- Budget management – including ensuring all activities are in line with budget plans
- Client service – including taking an active part in the promotion of the firm and, attend networking events where appropriate
- Communication – including sharing and disseminating news and information
- Contribution to the overall BD team output – including sharing ideas, workload and actively seeks to assist on projects
- Working across the MHA group – MHA is a collective of nine likeminded independent accounting practices of which Larking Gowen is a member. Your role will include being responsible for making sure Larking Gowen plays its part in the group, and takes advantage of shared ideas and best practice
- Sponsorships including driving the co-ordination and project management of sponsorships
Essential Experience
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft packages include Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Experienced use of internet, email and computerised packages
- Website maintenance experience (i.e. Umbraco, WordPress)
- Strong knowledge and interest in social media platforms (Twitter, Linked–in, Instagram, Facebook) building social media campaigns to support strategic sector growth initiatives
- Ability to think strategically across all marketing platforms
- Knowledge of databases and CRM systems
- Event management and event management software experience ideally Eventbrite
- Agency or client-side experience as a marketing executive (or equivalent)
- Budget Management experience (Excel)
- Project Management experience
- Previous experience of working in relevant industries, e.g. professional services or marketing agency
- Good venue knowledge across East Anglia.
- HTML experience
- Understands SEO and developing paid search strategies, SEO projects and optimisation for SEO, pay per click and telemarketing campaigns
- Confident using InDesign or similar design software for producing basic artwork ready files for print
Education and qualifications
- Maths and English Language at GCSE or equivalent
- Professional qualification (CIM) desirable

- Flexibility to travel as you may be required to travel to our other East Anglia based offices
