Families invited to enjoy Easter in Suffolk with a special offer from the Bell Hotel, Saxmundham

Families planning an Easter break in Suffolk this year are being offered an incentive to make the most of the spring holidays, as The Bell Hotel in Saxmundham launches a seasonal promotion allowing children under 12 to stay for free when sharing a room with parents. The offer, which includes breakfast for younger guests, also provides 15% off the hotel’s best available room rate and 25% off children’s meals in the restaurant.

The boutique hotel, with a  5 star TripAdvisor rating, hopes the initiative will encourage families to explore the region at one of the most exciting times of the year. Suffolk hosts an extensive programme of Easter trails, outdoor attractions and cultural events throughout late March and early April, many of which are within easy reach of Saxmundham.

One of the headline events this spring is the Easter Adventure at Dunwich Heath and Beach, where families can take part in a nature‑themed trail featuring activities, bunny ears and chocolate treats for each participant. The event runs between 28 March and 6 April and remains one of the county’s most popular seasonal outings for children.

Historic sites across Suffolk are also preparing for the holiday period. At Framlingham Castle, an Easter Adventure Quest invites children to search for hidden eggs and solve clues around the medieval fortress in return for a chocolate reward. The trail takes place daily from 28th March to 19th April. Meanwhile, Sutton Hoo near Woodbridge is offering a spring trail through its scenic landscape, designed to be enjoyed without the need for advance booking

Outdoor attractions are reopening for the season, including the Oasis Camel Park near Halesworth, which provides animal encounters with camels, llamas and wallabies, and typically begins operating again around Easter.

Pleasurewood Hills, the theme park near Lowestoft, also reopens for the holidays, offering rides, shows and entertainment suitable for a wide range of ages.

Younger guests can enjoy family‑focused activities such as the Southwold Maize Maze’s Bunny Hunt, which features two large mazes, outdoor play areas and seasonal attractions.

Nature enthusiasts may prefer the RSPB’s guided wildlife walks at Minsmere, taking place on selected dates and introducing families to the reserve’s reedbeds, hedgerows and resident species. These walks start from Snape Maltings, another destination hosting its own programme of Easter crafts, markets and family activities.

Cultural venues are also contributing to the Easter schedule. The Red House in Aldeburgh is offering Easter storytelling, crafts and an audio‑led egg hunt across its gardens on 8th and 9th April.

In Ipswich, The Hold  – Suffolk Archives will host craft sessions for young children on 31st March and 1st April, including low‑sensory options intended to make the experience accessible to all families.

Situated close to the Suffolk Coast and within short driving distance of Aldeburgh, Snape, Dunwich and Southwold, The Bell offers families the opportunity to combine cultural visits, outdoor exploration and traditional Easter activities with a comfortable stay in the town centre.

Bookings for the Easter offer are now open, with the hotel encouraging early reservations due to anticipated seasonal demand.
