Suffolk hair salon launches hair loss clinic

Hair is symbolic of so many things; beauty, strength, even fertility in some cultures. It has the power to affect self-esteem, self confidence and body image in both men and women – and your whole day can be defined by a ‘good’ or ‘bad’ hair episode.

It’s no wonder that loss of this precious asset can be devastating for people to go through.

Humans naturally shed between 50 and 100 hairs every day and experts believe that hair loss is cyclical, even seasonal, with people noticing that hair loss seems to become more apparent during the Autumn.  Many of the clients, at Heavenly Hair, particularly women, have recently become more aware of hair being lost when washing, brushing and styling.

According to Google trends, searches for ‘causes of hair loss in women’ is up 82% year on year and whilst the most common cause of hair loss in both men and women is androgenetic alopecia (also referred to as male or female pattern baldness), hair loss can also be due to many conditions; A thyroid disorder, psoriasis, iron deficiency, weight loss, menopause or treatment for cancer are just a few.

Whilst there are medications that can work to treat female pattern boldness, such as minoxidil, these won’t work for everyone and can be expensive.

Beautiful hair starts with a clean and healthy scalp

At Heavenly Hair they are hugely passionate about healthy hair and have always offered their clients a holistic approach to their hair concerns. Their hair specialists have undergone extensive product training so they are able to make a correct diagnosis for their clients and their particular concerns, and then recommend the most suitable products and treatments to help.  As a result of this approach and after popular demand, Heavenly Hair are pleased to announce that on 26th November they will be launching a dedicated hair and scalp clinic.

During a discreet and private consultation they will discuss the details of the problem, the potential causes and any dietary factors that may be affecting the condition of the hair and scalp. With the use of the state of the art ‘Mediscope’, they will explore any scalp problems and through analysis will reveal the causes of irritation.  They will then recommend a course of action to support and encourage the health of your hair and scalp.

The first treatment of the 14-day programme using Mediceutical products is carried out in the salon and is included within the price of the initial products. The Mediceuticals dermatological range helps reduce hair loss and thinning by ensuring the scalp is in optimum condition and hair growth is stimulated. By taking images of the unhealthy scalp at the initial consultation, they can provide an additional visual comparison at the end of treatment.

Janene Bush, Managing Directing of Heavenly Hair explains why she thinks the clinic is a good idea for the community “We want to provide a sympathetic environment that puts our clients at ease, not only do we strive to deliver hair loss solutions for our clients, we also want to provide psychological comfort from our team.  We want our clients to know that we will do our best to make ourselves available when they are struggling or overcome with worries about their hair.  Hair loss is a sensitive subject for anyone, which is why we offer an inclusive service.”
