New Barber Shop Opens on Aldeburgh High Street

A new barber shop opened its doors at 116-118 High Street, Aldeburgh on 8th October, offering gentlemen’s haircuts and wet shaves. The aptly name ‘Sir’ was officially opened by Liam Hamilton from Bluebeard’s Revenge, a leading voice in quality male grooming.

Sir is the latest business venture to be launched by local entrepreneur and award-winning salon owner Janene Hawkins, who also owns Heavenly Hair& Amaya Spa in Saxmundham.

Janene explains: “We’re thrilled to join the thriving community of independent business owners in Aldeburgh. With male grooming and ‘full works’ wet shaves growing in popularity, we’re keen to give gentlemen a great haircut and the optional indulgence of a proper wet shave. Feedback so far has been extremely positive, and we’ve been taking bookings ahead of opening the shop, which is a testament to the welcoming culture of Aldeburgh.”

She continues: “We’ve built a strong reputation in Saxmundham by offering exceptional cuts and colour, as well as a wide range of Spa and beauty treatments, using the latest techniques and products.  Our team has a full training calendar as continuous professional development is important to our brand and our staff. We’ll follow the same philosophy at Sir. We’re looking forward to becoming well known here in Aldeburgh for our excellent service and our happy and fulfilled team.”

Sally Ogden, Chairman of Aldeburgh Business Association, added: “The Business Association are delighted to welcome Janene with her business ‘Sir’ to the High Street and very much look forward to working together in the future.  Small, independent traders help to keep Aldeburgh unique and I am sure this new business will appeal to both locals and visitors alike.”
