A Celebration of Suffolk’s Social Care
28/09/2022 - Care Development East
Suffolk’s Care Providers gathered recently to celebrate and recognise the achievements of the local sector at the annual Suffolk Care Awards.
The event, held at Milsoms Kesgrave was run by Care Development East and hosted by Shaun Williamson, best known for his role as Barry in Eastenders.
Nearly 200 guests saw awards presented in 8 categories including Apprentice of the Year, End of Life Care, and Inspirational Leadership.
Prior to the awards, Chair of Care Development East, Christine Laverock said
‘This is the first time we’ve been able to hold this event face to face since 2019 and we’re thrilled to all be together again. In spite of the challenges social care has faced, providers have continued to provide outstanding care and support to those they help look after.
It is hugely encouraging to hear about the good practice that exists in Suffolk and it will inspire us all to keep aiming high.’
Councillor Beccy Hopfensperger, Portfolio Holder for Adult Social Care at Suffolk County Council, the event’s headline sponsor endorsed this saying.
‘Every year I am both humbled and proud to be invited to celebrate the stories and successes from the front line of Social Care in Suffolk. As a county I believe we are really fortunate to have so many excellent and committed people, who have made the care and support of others their focus and passion.
We are all very aware of the challenges that are facing the sector and only by working together can we develop innovative solutions that continue to improve outcomes for people that make working in the care sector so rewarding.’
