Popular Woodbridge coffee house renovated and rebranded

The Georgian Coffee House on Woodbridge’s Thoroughfare has undergone a radical revamp under the guidance of owners Chris & Michelle Harrold. The newly dubbed Drift Coffee House opened its doors at the beginning of April having undergone a full refit and redecoration project to transform the interior.

Chris & Michelle have been running the Greengrocers in Woodbridge since 2011 working hard improving the quality and selection of the range of local/national & international products, always ensuring quality at the best value.

And this is the motivation behind the revamp to Drift – ensuring really good quality food, using seasonal produce from the Greengrocers, at great value.

Drift’s Chef Lawrence, who has many years of catering experience, has been looking for a signature location where he can use quality products and create a new ever-changing coffee house. He has created the imaginative launch menu to match the contemporary and relaxed vibe. Food can be eaten in or taken away and the signature breakfast dish – a Drift sausage pattie with smashed avocado a fried egg and Sriracha sauce on an intriguing black brioche bun – is already a firm favourite with customers. There’s also a menu of creative brunches and lunchtime meals, sandwiches, and wraps including a range of vegetarian options.

The counter is adorned with freshly baked sausage rolls, quiches, locally made cakes and other sweet treats. Loose leaf and speciality teas and single estate high grown Brazilian & Columbian arabica artisan coffee, roasted in Suffolk, is served in statement china and there’s a range of soft drinks to suit all ages and tastes.

Lawrence explains: “The transformation of the coffee house has been remarkable. It’s so bright, spacious and cheerful now. We’ve had great customer feedback – most can’t believe the difference the renovations have made. The response to the food has been very rewarding too, it’s pleasing to the eye and to the palate and there’s something for everyone, whatever the time of day.”

Owners, Chris & Michelle Harrold, are very pleased with the town’s response to Drift: “We’re seeing more people coming in for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and after school snacks. People are really getting behind the take away option and the new menu has been very well received. We’re so grateful to the people of Woodbridge and further afield for their unwavering support and hope to attract more people with our more contemporary, bright and cheery atmosphere.”

And for May – they’re offering complimentary tea or coffee with any breakfast – so go try it out!
