Local Mortgage Advisors Celebrate Impressive Growth

A local mortgage advisor is celebrating an impressive growth surge, which has seen it expand its service into Norfolk and Essex.

The Mortgage Centres originated in Needham Market as Needham Mortgage Centre, and the group has since grown to encompass 13 partner branches across East Anglia. While the majority of branches are located in Suffolk, you’ll now find The Mortgage Centres represented in Norwich, King’s Lynn, Colchester and Diss – a result of the company’s expansion into neighbouring counties.

Each Mortgage Centre is run as its own business with a select team of Directors, some of whom operate across a number of branches. This business model has contributed largely to the success of the group as it allows skilled teams to cater specifically to their individual area’s markets and reduce the limitation that may come from franchise-style models.

Having launched in September 1996, the ongoing success of the group owes a lot to its digital footprint. “People do so much more online these days, so being visible and accessible online has made such a difference and allowed us to keep up with our competitors while still offering the best service we can,” said Carl Shave, Director at Stowmarket Mortgage Centre.

When asked what the environment today is like for mortgage advisors, Carl suggested that Suffolk was a good place to start – and still is. “The market in Suffolk is great – there are lots of new developments springing up in ideal spots that are drawing more people to Suffolk, both in urban areas and the countryside,” he said.

So, what makes The Mortgage Centres different to other mortgage advisors?

“If you were to really dig into it, I suppose the difference is that we always choose what’s best for our customer rather than what’s cheapest for them, which can be very different things,” said Carl. “And because we don’t provide mortgages ourselves – we’re not lenders – it means we can be impartial and find the deal that’s tailored to the unique requirements of the customer, whether that’s with a high-street lender or more specialist provider.”
