Attendees at Suffolk Chamber of Commerce’s Tour of Britain 2017 networking lunch event on 12 July now stand the chance of getting as close as possible to the thrill of the event during the Suffolk leg in September.

The Chamber will be running a business card draw offering guests the chance to win two fantastic Tour of Britain-related prizes:

  • 2 places on the media ride from Eye to Framlingham on 15 August. The media ride will be supported by a Police motorcycle escort, official Tour of Britain race cars and riders from an official cycling team. The media ride gives guests a real insight and unique experience of what it’s like to be part of the peloton.

In addition, Suffolk Chamber has announced that its networking event, held at Newmarket Racecourses’ Rowley Mile will have a third sponsor and speaker. Ciaran Nelson, head of strategic communications at Anglian Water will talk about the company’s efforts to put customer opinions at the heart of its business plans.

Ciaran joins Alastair Grant and Dr Andy Wood OBE on the speakers’ podium.

Alastair has played an integral part in the development and growth of The Tour of Britain event, as well as the creation of the Women’s Tour and Tour Series, and will provide an update on how businesses can get involved with the Tour of Britain.

Andy became the chief executive of Adnams in 2010, after first joining the team in the mid-1990s. Adnams is the principal partner to the East Anglia stage of the Tour of Britain, and Andy will be sharing his thoughts on why the Tour of Britain is important to businesses in the local community.

Matthew Darroch-Thompson, chair of Newmarket and District Chamber of Commerce, explains: “This event will be absolutely first-rate, combining a perfect location for lunch and networking, three great speakers and the chance to win some authentic Tour of Britain experiences, allowing the lucky winners to get really close to the action. It promises to be the business highlight of the year in Newmarket.”

The other partners involved in bringing the Tour of Britain to Suffolk are Suffolk County Council and Suffolk Coastal District Council working in partnership with Sweetspot, the event managers for the Tour, and other local borough and district councils.
