Suffolk Chamber of Commerce’s annual Prestige Dinner, the most eagerly anticipated business event in the region, proved to be a great success as over 250 guests were entertained by ‘king of the Jungle’ and football legend Harry Redknapp’s recollections of his career and life experiences.
Hosted last week (Friday 23 September) at Wherstead Park, the black-tie event’s gold sponsor was MAD-HR, with silver sponsors, DXB Pump & Power, EUROAPI, SMART Garden Offices and Vertas, and bronze sponsors, Cory Brothers, Pound Gates and Wherstead Park.
Former Premier League football manager and winner of TV’s ‘I’m a Celebrity…’, Harry Redknapp, spoke to a very appreciative audience for well over an hour, hosted in conversation with broadcast journalist, Rhiannon Jones.
Guests were captivated with tales of Harry’s life experiences, including his legendary managerial career; sharing jokes, juicy anecdotes and stories which had the crowd thoroughly entertained.
Suffolk Chamber members and their guests enjoyed a three-course dinner, networking, drinks and entertainment at the impressive Ipswich venue, with over £4,000 being raised during the event’s prize draw for local mental health charity, Suffolk Mind, organised by the event’s gold sponsors, MAD-HR.
John Dugmore, Suffolk Chamber’s chief executive said at the event: “It’s great to see so many people here tonight to celebrate all that’s good about business in Suffolk.
“Harry’s stories of aiming high, planning carefully and coping with setbacks resonated with our audience, most of whom have probably experienced such highs and lows in business.”
Catherine Johnson, Suffolk Chamber’s president, added: “I was truly honoured to welcome our guests, and friends, to this year’s Prestige Dinner. The event was yet another superb success for everyone involved in the Chamber, and most importantly a really enjoyable night with such outstanding and thought-provoking tales from Harry.
“I would like to extend my thanks to the Chamber team, Wherstead Park, our sponsors and all of our guests for helping to create such a memorable and enjoyable evening.”
Carole Burman, managing director at MAD-HR, said after the event: “What a superb night to be reminded of the spirit and the breadth of skill and success from across the Suffolk business community.
“We were delighted to have been a sponsor for the occasion and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet with clients and contacts across all sectors of industry from around the region.
“Congratulations to Suffolk Chamber on a terrific night.”
