WFH Businesses Could Suffer From Energy Price Increases

OFGEM announce 11 million households who pay by direct debit, energy bills would increase from an average of £1,138 a year to £1,277 from October but what about businesses that operate from home?

With the recent news that energy bills could spike in the next couple of months for both homes and businesses, business energy experts at Bionic have produced a comment to help consumers and business owners understand what this increase could mean for them.

Alex Staker, business energy expert at Bionic

“It’s always a good idea to compare business energy deals before the colder, darker winter months set in – a hike in energy prices is the last thing any of us need just as we’re using more gas and electricity to light and heat our homes and businesses. But there’s even more reason to switch this year as energy suppliers rush to put up prices in line with the Ofgem energy price cap.

“Although the price cap only directly affects domestic energy users, you could be hit with higher bills if you work or run your business from home. Even if you work from commercial premises and have a business energy deal in place, your supplier may increase its rates, which means you could feel the pinch when you next renew.”
