The Take 2 FSNB challenge

The Take 2 FSNB challenge! What’s your favourite film or iconic scene from a film that you just can’t get out of your head. Whatever your age or genre of film, there will always be something you remember. One poster that caught your eye. A memory from your childhood or teenage years. 

Fresh Start new beginnings has launched the Take 2 film challenge.  We ask you to find that picture from that film or scene you remember and then with members of your household replicate that film or cover as best as possible.

Once you have taken a photo share it with the original on social media then donate £3,£5 or £10, the cost of a coffee, work lunch or weeks commute via text to help support the work of Fresh Start new beginnings.  Then challenge three friends 24 hours to replicate a film of their choice and to support the charity.

Patsy Johnson-Cisse, from Fresh Start new beginnings said,  we were looking for a way to raise much needed funds for the charity in really difficult times having had to cancel events which means that we don’t know if the charity will be here in 6 month’s time.  Over half of our staff are on Furlough leave with the skeleton staff still working all volunteering to take a cut in hours and salaries.

With calls to Childline having spiked at this time, children could be on lockdown at home with their abusers, online grooming will be high and we know that when we all return to the new norm the services of Fresh Start new beginnings will be needed more than ever.  At this time, children’s mental health and welfare is a real concern.  We want to ensure that the charity is still here in months to come.  Still able to help children in real time of needing our help now and in the future.

Fresh Start new beginnings is a small children’s charity working with over 200 children who have been sexually abused.  We continue to offer online and phone support to our children and have adapted our services adding lots of calls with the child’s parents.  With children unable to meet with their therapists we are concerned.

The Take2 challenge is something that anyone can do at home with members of your household.

We are at a unique time in history where the world has had to take a pause in life whilst we fight Covid 19. For many of us this means financial worries, time at home and lots of unknowns. We as a charity are also faced with these worries but our work must continue. We are a therapeutic service for children that have been victims of sexual abuse across Suffolk and Norfolk up-to the age of 21 years old.  During this time lots of children are going to be in lock down with their abusers and when they are finally back at school or in a safe place we are going to see a huge surge of brave children coming forwards we want to be there for each and every-one child, helping them to take away the feelings of blame, of shame and guild.  Helping the child to rebuild their future.

We wanted to create something fun within families, house mates, couples or if your living solo. We challenge you to recreate a film scene or movie cover. Have some fun and show us your imaginative examples.
