Monthind Completes Tour de Broads 100-Mile Cycle for EAAA

Chris Brown, the Health & Safety Officer for Monthind Clean, completed the gruelling Tour de Broads 100-mile bike ride challenge for the second year running to raise £555 for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

The event sees around 3000 riders take to the Norfolk roads, taking in four rivers and 16 Broads, with a combination of routes and distances. Chris opted for the most challenging 100-mile route, completing it in just one day and smashing his £350 fundraising target.

Chris explains: “I wanted to support the East Anglian Air Ambulance charity’s incredible work; they are literally saving lives every day.  I had an initial target of £350 so I am really happy to have raised over two hundred pounds more thanks to so many generous donations. I knew that cycling a hundred miles would be a challenge so I trained all summer, building up to longer rides leading up to the event.”

The East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) is a 365-day-a-year helicopter emergency medical service covering Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk and Suffolk. The charity receives no regular funds from the government, and needs to raise £11.3m in charitable donations every year to continue operating.
