MHA Larking Gowen will host a joint ‘Making the best decisions’ seminar with Clapham Collinge and Lucas Fettes on Thursday, 12th September.  The seminar is aimed at those working in senior positions within the charitable sector.

The advice and information offered during the seminar will be practical, with an opportunity for shared learning with other delegates during an informal networking session.

What will be covered? 

  • Trustee responsibilities when investing charitable assets and the impact of MiFID II, including suitability and reporting
  • Board decision making – your responsibilities – when you need advice – when things go wrong
  • Using and challenging financial information

Giles is Charities and Education Director at MHA Larking Gowen, leading audits and independent exams for charities across East Anglia. He has specialised in advising charities and delivering trustee training for all his professional career. He has a passion for the charity sector, being a charity trustee and FE college audit governor. His professional memberships include the ICAEW Voluntary Sector Specialist Interest Group, Audit Faculty and Financial Reporting Faculty.

Neale Grearson, Partner and Head of Charities Department, Clapham & Collinge
Neale is a Partner and Head of the Charities Department at Clapham & Collinge. This multi discipline team includes commercial property and employment experts providing a specialist service to charities of all sizes. Neale’s background and involvement with charities means he has a perfect knowledge of what charities need (especially from solicitors!) and he draws on that experience to ensure that the Charities Department delivers a high quality package of legal services to charities.
