Do good networking is itching to get back

With restrictions easing, Do Good Networking is itching to get back out there in the community to help local charities. Kicking off with its first planned event of the year, the Do Good Team is spending the morning at Genesis Orwell Mencap one day in September.

Genesis is a locally based charity that was started by parents for children with disabilities to offer support services; including domiciliary care, supported living, an evening social club, social enterprises and assistance at home and in the community. The Do Good Team are going to be with them at their main site on Wright Road on September 16th for the whole morning to help out in the garden with ground maintenance clearing the footpath area to allow wheelchair access, weeding and mowing the lawns. There will also be the fantastic opportunity to visit their superb onsite Garden furniture workshop and Green bike project for all attendees.

Do Good Networking, founded by SimpleClick which is based in Ipswich, organises events where attendees network while giving back to local charities in and around Suffolk. SimpleClick Director, Richard Jennis, is delighted that Do Good Networking is back: “The last 18 months have been tough for all of us, particularly charities that haven’t been able to get out in the community to raise essential donations which they rely on. We did a few events last year, but with small numbers and social distancing in place, which presented its own set of challenges. Being able to run an event like this outdoors to kick start us this year is a big relief. I imagine lots of business owners like me can’t wait to get back out there at a networking event. What better way to do it than enjoying the great outdoors, grab your wellies, put on your gardening gloves and chat with likeminded people, while giving something back to the community at the same time. This will really have such a positive effect on Genesis Orwell Mencap”.

The Do Good Team is looking for volunteers from the business community to come and join them. If you are a local business owner with the desire to lend a helping hand, give something back to a local charity and network at the same time, then you are exactly what the Do Good team needs. Registration is open to all local business professionals in the Suffolk area. There is a minimum donation requirement of £10 + VAT to attend, and all proceeds collected go directly to the charity. To attend the event you can register at https://www.do-good.co.uk/events/genesis-orwell-mencap-16th-sept-2021.

Do Good Networking is always looking for its next charity to support with a hands-on project to bring the local community together.  If you are a Charity with a great project in mind, then don’t hesitate to get in touch with Jules at Do Good.
