Innovative Ipswich-based web agency celebrates 10 year anniversary

2008 was a very different time. Barack Obama was elected president of the United States of America, Boris Johnson became the Mayor of London and Heathrow officially opened Terminal 5.

From a business perspective, Apple revealed the iPhone 3G  – a phone which revolutionised the way we use smartphones –  whilst the UK high street mourned the loss of national institutions MFI and Woolworths.

But 2008 can also be remembered for the launch of one of Suffolk’s most successful web development agencies – SimpleClick.

Launched 10 years ago by Managing Director Richard Jennis, the company has built a positive reputation for building strong working relationships with clients whilst delivering high quality, complex websites in a simple, jargon-free manner.

Speaking about SimpleClick’s ongoing success, Richard says: “So much has changed over the last ten years – we’ve had the introduction of smartphones, the development of apps and the current shift towards making websites “mobile-ready”. Looking ahead to the future, we’ll start to see the inclusion of automation and artificial intelligence as well as a few things that we can’t even begin to imagine!”

“When we started the company, there were just two of us and it was always our mission to work closely alongside our clients to ensure that they understood exactly what we were doing, and how we were going to do it. We’ve always believed in leaving the ‘techno-babble’ at the door – and it’s an approach which has paid off.”

Thanks to their ability to make the complex seem straightforward, SimpleClick has enjoyed continual business success over the last ten years and have worked with a variety of local, national and even international brands, many of whom have continued working with the company for many years.

Over the last ten years, the company has grown rapidly and has moved offices three times to cope with the increasing numbers of staff. Richard, however, is extremely proud of the company’s Suffolk roots, and is keen to promote the many benefits of working locally.

He says: “Due to our location, we’re competing with many London-based agencies for talented people, but we are passionate in our belief that there are some incredible career opportunities closer to home. We’ve had the pleasure of training many of our staff from the very beginnings of their careers and it’s been remarkable to see them learn new skills and develop new capabilities without the need to move elsewhere. The digital revolution is here, and Suffolk has a thriving business scene which we are thrilled to be a part of.”

Richard concludes: “It’s been a whirlwind decade but it’s time to raise a glass to everything that our talented team has achieved over the past ten years and look forward to our future. We are aiming high and we want to become the leading web development agency in East Anglia. It’s a tough task but we’re confident that we have the ability and we can’t wait to get there!”
