Alison Shadrack has been appointed to lead the Essex branch of the Institute of Directors (IoD)

The IoD has announced the appointment of its new Essex Chairperson. Alison Shadrack, who is the founder and CEO of Essex-based public relations consultancy Adia PR steps into the role having served as the membership organisation’s interim-chair in Essex for the last year.

Alongside helping members navigate the challenges around the coronavirus pandemic and Brexit, Alison is keen to deliver opportunities and collaboration across the region, as she explains.

“We have some really exciting opportunities for our members in 2021,” says Alison. “At its core, the IoD is run by directors for directors – there are more than 21,000 of us in the UK and overseas. We help our members to connect to, develop and influence their network and the wider business community and there are more compelling reasons than ever for business leaders to develop their skills. In the past year, the IoD has invested in providing online access for members to attend virtual events, masterminds, executive coaching, board development training and to acquire formal director qualifications.”

“We are here to help directors to understand that there is support for them at whatever level they are working at. There is support to learn, to connect and engage with like-minded directors, and we are here to facilitate that.

“I’m looking forward to working with the other branch chairs in the East of England to continue to strengthen our membership, engagement, collaboration and opportunities in the region.

“We have some excellent events with highly sought after speakers lined up for this year and welcome both members and non-members to join us.”
