Young person’s charity shortlisted for mental health work award
4/02/2020 - Student Life
Regional charity Student Life has been shortlisted as a finalist in the national InsideOut Mental Health Awards, which celebrate mental health and the organisations and individuals who champion it.
On the 26th of March, the inaugural InsideOut Mental Health Awards will be hosted in central London and the evening itself will be very different to any other awards ceremonies; providing a unique experience of celebration, networking, entertainment, and dancing with the industry’s finest.
The diverse judging panel is formed of industry thought leaders and young people with lived experience and fresh perspectives. Together they mark the progress of stigma getting smashed and celebrate the creation of mentally healthy workplaces and education settings, that allow employees and young people alike to prioritise their wellbeing.
“To say that I am delighted is a massive understatement” commented Student Life’s CEO Richard Stewart.
“This recognition is the result of passion, dedication and commitment from our team of staff and most importantly from our 1000+ strong team of young people in the region. Our peer-to-peer approach to young people’s mental health is both groundbreaking and innovative and is supported by over 50 schools and colleges. This is our first national award nomination and sits alongside 8 regional award nominations resulting in 5 regional award wins in the space of just 2 years” continued Richard.
