Great Blakenham-based Morrison Freight has signed a three-year sponsorship agreement with the Suffolk and Ipswich League to become the new title sponsor of the SIL League Cup, formerly called the Bob Coleman Cup.
The Macron Suffolk and Ipswich Football League are formed of eight divisions and it is affiliated to the Suffolk County Football Association. The battle to win the cup takes place every season.
Director Lee Steward has been involved in grassroots football for years and he is on the committee at Henley Athletic Football Club. Morrison Freight also provides sponsorship for the men’s and ladies teams at Henley Athletic.
He said: “At Morrison Freight we believe it’s important to support local teams, businesses and charities, so we are really excited to be involved in this cup.
“As a proud supporter of grassroots football myself, it’s great to have the opportunity to sponsor such an important local competition.
“There have been some great matches take place already so I can’t wait to announce the winner next year.”
The fourth round ties of the cup will take place Saturday 14th December 2019.
Lee Steward and Darren Ryan from Morrison Freight will present the cup to the winner in May 2020.
The Suffolk and Ipswich Football League is a football competition based in Suffolk, England. The league, formerly known as the Ipswich and District League, was founded in 1896. It became the Suffolk and Ipswich Football League in 1978.
