East Anglia’s Children Hospices awarded Investors in People accreditation

East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) is delighted to have been awarded the internationally-recognised Investors in People (IIP) accreditation.

The charity has received ‘We invest in people’ accreditation, recognising its principles and practices around supporting employees are in place.

The assessment follows an employee survey, a review of processes and practices and extended consultation with employees and volunteers.

EACH cares for children and young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.

It offers families flexibility and control over where they receive care and support and has three hospices at Milton (Cambridge), The Nook (Norfolk) and The Treehouse (Ipswich).

EACH Chief Executive Phil Gormley said: “It’s great news and I’d like to say a huge thank you for everyone’s contribution and dedication to the first part of this key programme. It’s a big achievement for the organisation.

“It recognises a lot of hard work done by colleagues across the organisation, investments made over a number of years and, at the crux of it, means colleagues are involved in supporting each other and doing their best to make working at EACH better.

“I’m immensely proud and it remains our ambition to become a genuine employer of choice, recognising and using everyone’s talent and potential to improve the lives of the children and their families who depend on us.”

EACH’s survey results rated the charity higher than the average benchmark for all IIP-assessed organisations. It came 14th of 64 healthcare organisations IIP work with.

Mr Gormley says the charity is determined to keep moving forward, using feedback and recommendations to work to an action plan and make further improvements.

Investors in People CEO Paul Devoy said: “We’d like to congratulate EACH.

“Being accredited with ‘We invest in people’ is a remarkable effort for any organisation, and places EACH in fine company with a host of organisations that understand the value of people.”
