Chambers event manager aims to deliver ‘best new approach possible’

Suffolk Chamber the leading business organisation has recruited Ami Birrell as its new events manager and given her a brief to develop and deliver a refreshed approach to providing members and others the best networking experiences possible. Ami has a broad business background and for the previous three years has been Sudbury’s town centre manager and events coordinator. She was responsible for delivering a number of highly successful public events, many of them attracting 7000 visitors each.

In the last decade, Suffolk Chamber of Commerce has built up a market-leading reputation for delivering successful networking events across all locations and of all sizes.  The core aim of each event is to provide the best environments for business people to build relationships and generate sustainable leads. The Chamber’s events output is one of the organisation’s four main services that it provides for its members in particular, but also to the wider business community. The others are policy and representation, international trade and discounted or free member benefits.

Amanda Ankin, Suffolk Chamber’s operations director, said: “Ami is an extremely impressive events professional with a perfect balance of experience and new ideas. Suffolk Chamber has exciting plans this year to launch a refreshed approach to events to ensure that we continue to deliver the best experiences possible for the county’s businesses. Ami will have a key role in helping this ambition become a reality.”

Ami herself added: “I’m really excited to have joined Suffolk Chamber and am looking forward to leading a fantastic team of both new and existing staff.

Suffolk Chamber has recently commissioned a focus group workshop and a member survey to best determine the specific future needs of our members. I’m thoroughly looking forward to using this valuable information to shape our forthcoming events portfolio and am determined to deliver the best new approach possible.”
