Capacity crowd enjoys John Sergeant Chamber event

Hosted by Milsoms Kesgrave, Suffolk Chamber of Commerce’s second Prestige Dinner was a great success, as 200 guests were entertained by renowned TV journalist, John Sergeant.

John gave an informed and humorous talk on British politics, Brexit, Trump and a wide range of other topics, before taking questions from the floor. The questions ranged from the gender pay issues at the BBC, through to whether John would still recommend journalism as a career during these troubled times and how he rated the current crop of party leaders.

Following his address, the veteran broadcaster worked the room by going table to table and chatting with the guests.

According to Graham Abbey, Suffolk Chamber’s President: “It was a great night. John is such a fine raconteur with a real stage presence and he was even more entertaining than usual. Our guests particularly appreciated the time he spent individually speaking with them.”

Amanda Ankin, Operations Director at Suffolk Chamber added: “Our Prestige Dinners, launched at the beginning of 2018, have proven to be a great success. They offer a wonderful opportunity for our members to entertain their customers in first class locations and to hear at first hand from exemplary speakers.

“We are planning for the next Prestige Dinner in May 2019 and I’m sure that this will be another must-attend event for Suffolk’s business leaders.

The black tie event was sponsored by advertising, marketing and design company Hydrogen, with the accompanying programme sponsored by KWL Logistics and goody bags sponsored by Aardvark Chocolates and Fishers Gin.
